Fairness is part

of doing business

Together, we can shift the power balance

Whether you’re a grower or an exporter of fresh produce, SAFTA connects you to long-term buyer programs in global markets that value quality and fairness.

We set up the programs. You benefit from stable relationships.

Minimum guaranteed prices

The industry problem

Fresh produce is often sold on a minimum guarantee, based on a market prediction.

Part of the price is paid early, hopefully just enough to cover costs. The rest depends on how the market moves.

When the market drops, there’s little upside left.
When the market rises, that upside rarely reaches the seller.

That’s deeply unfair.

Industry under pressure

When One bad container changes everything

In practice, the price hoped for is rarely the price that is realised.

One bad container can wipe out the profit of an entire season. Sometimes it eats into what was produced the previous year. Sometimes it borrows from the year ahead.

That pressure doesn’t stay on paper.

It shows up when paying employees. When settling with vendors. When deciding what a business can afford to take home for the families and communities behind it.

This is the reality many growers and exporters are trying to work around.

The opportunity cost

Building access takes more than great fruit

Quality alone doesn’t open global markets.

Access comes with high upfront costs, long timelines, and guarded relationships. Costs that many growers and exporters simply cannot carry. As a result, access stays limited.

Those who already control buyers, capital, and routes keep that control. SAFTA exists to open that access.

We act as an extension of the growers and exporters we work with, giving them a way into global markets that would otherwise remain out of reach.
